This role provides hands-on leadership for an industrial maintenance team, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-quality performance across the plant. The position combines team development, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading with safety first, applying sound engineering and technical practices to protect both team members and food quality
- Supporting and developing a team of 4 to 20 maintenance team members, providing clear direction and daily priorities
- Staying connected to the work by spending significant time on the production floor, working alongside your team
- Coaching and developing employees, ensuring training is completed and skills continue to grow
- Ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to high quality standards
- Managing day-to-day administrative responsibilities such as payroll approvals, time-off requests, and reporting
- Coordinating with contractors and OEM partners to support maintenance and operational needs
- Managing maintenance budgets, including labor, parts, and external support, to drive cost-effective results
- Identifying and implementing improvements that enhance safety, reliability, productivity, and quality
- Strengthening preventative maintenance programs
- Supporting equipment upgrades and modifications
- Finding cost-saving opportunities through parts and process improvements
- Leveraging the Enterprise Asset Management system as a key tool to track, manage, and improve maintenance activities
- Collaborating across departments to achieve plant and team goals
- Championing a continuous improvement mindset in daily work
- Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
- Supporting and/or leading project work that drives operational success
Qualifications (Required):
- Experience in industrial maintenance (1+ year of supervision experience or equivalent for Engineer)
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and welding systems
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
- Effective leadership skills with a proactive, take-initiative mindset
- Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work well in a diverse, team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed
- Physical ability to lift at least 40 lbs. and perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field (or higher, such as a bachelor’s in engineering or related discipline)
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with advanced troubleshooting and repair expertise
- Experience in leadership roles such as Maintenance Lead, Supervisor, or overseeing large repairs and process improvements
- CMRP or other relevant technical certifications/licensure (e.g., Electrical Journeyman License)
